Green Beans And Crisp Onion Rings

2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour sifted
1 Tablespoon Sugar plus
1 Teaspoon Salt fresh ground black pepper to taste
1 Red Onion cut into
1/2 Pound Green Beans trimmed and cut
1/2 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter melted
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce recommended (1-2)

1. In a small bowl whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.

2. Separate onion slices into rings and toss in flour mixture to coat.

3. In a 9-inch skillet heat 1/2 inch oil to 380F on a deep-fat thermometer.

4. Shake off excess flour from half of onion rings and fry them, turning, until golden 1 to 2 minutes.

5. Transfer onion rings with tongs to paper towels to drain and fry remaining onion rings in same manner.

6. In a vegetable steamer set over boiling water steam beans, covered, about 6 minutes, or until tender.

7. In a large bowl toss beans with onion rings, butter, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste.
