A classic and light soup which can be taken at any point of time and especially when guest are invited. Surprise them with this awesome Gulaschsuppe.

Ingredients:

2 Cups Onions 2 Cups Onion Chopped
1/4 Cup Shortening 1/4 Cup Shortening (Crisco)
3 Unit Green Bell Peppers 3 Unit Green Bell Peppers Chopped
3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste 3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste Generous
1 Pound Beef 1 Pound Beef Cubes 1-inch Cubes
1 Red Pepper 1 Red Pepper Dash
1 Teaspoon Paprika 1 Teaspoon Paprika or chopped parsley
2 Unit Cloves Of Garlic 2 Unit Clove Of Garlic Minced
6 Cups Beef Broth 6 Cups Beef Broth *
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice Of 1/2 Med.Lemon
1/4 Teaspoon Caraway Seed 1/4 Teaspoon Caraway Seeds ; crushed

Directions:

1. Fry onions in hot fat until transparent.

2. Add green peppers and tomato paste. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.

3. Add lean beef cubes and remaining ingredients.

4. Simmer about 1 1/2 hours, until meat is tender.

5. (Add cubed potatoes if you like and simmer until potatoes are done).

6. Best when reheated and served the second day.
