1/4 Teaspoon Salt ; to taste
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips (optional)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla or more; if desired
3/4 Cup Light Corn Syrup (makes for smooth texture)
1/4 Cup Butter or margarine Softened
2 Tablespoons Bourbon or whiskey
3 Eggs beaten
1/2 Cup Pecan broken in lg. pieces
1 Cup Sugar

1. Cream butter; beat in sugar slowly.

2. Add eggs, corn syrup, vanilla and salt. Beat well.

3. Stir in bourbon. Spread broken nuts and chocolate chips over bottom of pie shell.

4. Pour other mixed ingredients over nuts and chocolate chips into a 9 5/8" unbaked deep dish pie shell.

5. Raise the edge of the crust. This will be very full, so handle carefully when putting into the oven.

6. Bake on middle rack of top ( large oven) oven at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

7. Serve with whipped topping if desired. (This is very rich, so small servings are adequate).
