Marie's Caramel Corn

Ingredients:

2 Cups Brown Sugar or honey (opt.)
1/2 Pound Butter Soft
1 Teaspoon Salt cayenne pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar (meringue)
6 Quarts Popcorn popped
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda heaping
1/2 Cup Karo Syrup light or dark

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

2. Combine brown sugar, Karo, butter, cream of tartar, salt in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

3. Boil for 5 minutes. While mixture is boiling, place popped corn in a large, buttered pan.

4. Remove sugar mixture from heat and stir in baking soda.

5. It bubbles quickly. Pour over popcorn and stir to combine.
