Orange Date Scones

1 Pound Cake Flour (not all-purpose)
1 Pound All-Purpose Flour (up to 3)
2 Ounces Baking Powder plus
4 Ounces Sugar pinch
12 Ounces Butter (softened)
2 Cups Dates cut-up
4 Oranges grated peel
2 Cups Sour Cream imitation
2 Cups Milk dry

1. METHOD: In a food processor mix flours, b.

2. powder, sugar and salt. Add dates and orange peel.

3. Add butter and pulse til mealy. Dump all into a bowl and add sour cream and milk that has been mixed together.

4. Mix gently but quickly until batter is moistened.

5. Dump onto a floured board and knead about 20 times until mixture is smooth and cohesive.

6. Roll out to about 3/4" thick and cut into 2" squares.

7. Brush tops with milk or egg wash and bake at 400 F for about 15 minutes.
