1. In a large iron skillet, brown pork chops on both sides until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. To the pan, add water.
3. Spread ketchup on top of chops. Add green onion, mushrooms, green pepper, hot sauce sauce,Worcestershire sauce and sugar, if used.
4. Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat. Simmer 45 to 50 minutes until chops are fork tender.
5. Taste. Adjust seasonings, if necessary. Serve immediately.
