Pork Chops With Spices

Ingredients:

8 Pork Chops each about
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil 45 Ml
1 1/2 Cups Onions chopped fine
2 Teaspoons Garlic minced
1 Cup Water plus more as needed
1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seed optional
1/8 Teaspoon Paprika or chopped parsley
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric ;
1 Bay Leaf quartered

Directions:

1. Heat the oil in a heavy skillet large enough to hold the chops in one layer.

2. Add the chops and cook until nicely browned on one side, about 5-6 minutes Turn the chops and cook on the other side about 5 minutes Pour off all the fat from the skillet.

3. Return the skillet to the heat and scatter the onions and garlic around the chops.

4. Cook briefly, stirring. Add the water and sprinkle the chops with cumin, paprika, turmeric and bay leaf.

5. Cover closely and cook about 30 minutes over low heat.
