One can give any shape to the dough and stuff but the most common shape is small cones. Fill the stuffing into them and pack them from the wide end of the cone. To ensure that they are sealed use a few drops of water. One can also prepare a temporary sealing paste using flour and water. Heat oil in a frying pan Deep fry the samosas till golden brown Serve hot with ketchup or tamarind chutney.

Ingredients:

1/2 lb Lean Ground Beef Very
1 Cardamom Seed
1/2 Onion chopped
1 cup Water
1/2 tablespoon Fresh Ginger
1/3 cup Cilantro leaves chopped
6 Cloves Of Garlic
2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seed
2 tablespoons Vegetable Shortening
1/2 teaspoon Salt
10 tablespoons Water approximately
1 teaspoon Chili Powder
2 teaspoons Substitute Egg
1/2 teaspoon Stick Cinnamon

Directions:

1. For filling: In blender or food processor, grind onion, ginger root, garlic, cinnamon stick, cardamom, cumin and salt.

2. Break cinnamon stick into pieces before adding to blender.

3. Spray a medium skillet with non stick spray. Add ground beef and blend the spice mixture.

4. Cook until beef is browned. Add 1 cup water and cook until water evaporates.

5. Add coriander leaves and stir to mix. For pastry: Cut shortening into flour until it resembles coarse meal.

6. Sprinkle with water, 2 teaspoons at a time, and mix with a fork until you can form it into a stiff dough.

7. Shape dough into ball and cut into 8 equal pieces.

8. Shape each piece into a ball and roll on lightly floured board into a 6-inch flat circle.

9. Cut circle in half. Place a scant 1 tablespoon of filling on each half.

10. Moisten edges of pastry with water. Fold and pinch edges together.

11. Brush lightly with egg substitute for golden brown pastry.

12. Bake at 425 degree for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
