Very yummy cookies, great for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients:

1 cup Shortening
1 cup Molasses
1 cup Sugar
6 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Ginger
1 teaspoon Ground Cloves
4 teaspoons Baking Soda
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon White Vinegar
1 cup Milk let stand 5 min

Directions:

1. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2. Add molasses. Sift 2 c flour with spices. Put soda in sour milk and add to the first ingredients.

3. Add enough flour (small amounts at a time or the dough will be stiff and produce a tough cookie) to produce a rollable cookie dough.

4. Roll about 1/4 inch thick and cut with a cookie cutter.

5. ** If the dough is too sticky, refrigerate for about two hours before rolling.

6. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 8-10 min at 375.
