Susan Rostov's Boiled Dinner

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Prepared Mustard
1/3 Cup Light Brown Sugar firmly packed
1/4 Teaspoon Salt pepper to taste
8 Carrots peeled & quartered
1 Egg yolk Lg, Beaten
3/8 Cup Cider Vinegar or sweet and sour sauce
8 Potatoes peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
2 Bay Leaves (1 to 2)
8 Yellow Onions peeled and diced
1 1/2 Tablespoons Butter melted (up to 1)
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper Ground
1 Clove Of Garlic finely chopped
1/4 Cup Sugar (7 oz)
5 Pounds Corned Beef (1 piece)
2 Cloves whole
10 Peppercorns whole
1 Cabbage cut in wedges

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients.

2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring. Reduce heat, simmer 3 minutes.

3. Serve hot with corned beef. Also good with ham.
