Toffee Butter Crunch

Ingredients:

1 Cup Butter (1/4 stick) cut into 6 pieces
1 Cup Sugar pinch
3 Tablespoons Water lukewarm (110 to 115
1 Tablespoon Corn Syrup light
1/2 Cup Pecan coarsely chopped
3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips semisweet
1/2 Cup Pecan finely chopped

Directions:

1. Butter the sides of a heavy 2 quart saucepan.

2. In it melt the 1 cup butter. Add sugar, water, and corn syrup.

3. Cook over medium heat to 300 degrees, stirring frequently (mixture should boil gently over entire surface).

4. Watch carefully after 280 degrees. Remove from heat.

5. Quickly stir in the 1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts.

6. Immediately turn into a buttered 13x9x2-inch pan.

7. Wait for 2 to 3 minutes for toffee surface to firm, then sprinkle with the 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts.

8. Chill till chocolate is firm, break into pieces.
