Vodka Sauce

This pasta sauce is a family favorite and could not be easier to make. It's a great variation on the traditional marinara sauce with an added gourmet twist!


2 Shallots
1/2 cup Butter
1 dash Cayenne Pepper flakes or ground
1 cup Vodka
56 oz Crushed Tomatoes can
1 pint Heavy Cream

1. Saute 2 Shallots and 1 Stick Butter until soft (about 10 min.)

2. Add several shakes red pepper ground or flakes.

3. Add 1 cup Vodka. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

4. Add 2 28 oz. cans Crushed Tomatoes. Simmer at least 20 minutes.

5. Add 1 pint Heavy Cream. Simmer 10 minutes.

6. Enjoy!

I sauteed some fresh shrimp with garlic and butter and served it on top of the pasta and this sauce as a finishing touch! Delicious and rave reviews!
