Ingredients:

2 Cups All-Purpose Flour (up to 3)
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda level - dissol ved in milk
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Shortening chilled
Cup Water lukewarm (110 to 115

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F In the food processor or in a large bowl, mix the flour and baking soda.

2. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal.

3. Slowly stir in enough of the water to form a dough that will hold together in a cohesive ball.

4. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions for rolling.

5. On a floured surface or pastry cloth, roll into a rectangle no thicker than 1/8 inch thick.

6. With a sharp knife, cut the dough into 2-inch squares.

7. Place on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.

8. Prick each square 2 or 3 times with the tines of a fork.

9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until medium brown and crisp.
