This is a recipe which will appeal to those of you with a sweet tooth. It is also absolutely perfect for the kids to enjoy helping you to make it.


1 cup Brown Sugar firmly packed
1 cup Margarine or Butter
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Walnut Chopped
1/2 cup Apricot Jam

1. Beat together sugar, butter, egg and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

2. Stir in flour and nuts. Spoon half the batter in a greased 9-inch square pan; spread evenly.

3. Spread batter evenly with jam. Cover jam with remaining batter.

4. Bake in 325 degree oven 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
