Chocolate Custard Cake

3 Unit Unsweetened Chocolate Squares
1/2 Cup Milk (evaporated is best)
1 Unit Egg Well Beaten
Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter (1/4 stick) cut into 6 pieces
1 Cup Sugar
2 Unit Eggs yolks Well Beaten
2 Cups Cake Flour Sifted
1/4 Teaspoon Salt (I used reduced sodium)
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda or less to taste
1 Cup Milk (evaporated is best)

1. Cook chocolate, milk, egg and sugar to custard stage.

2. Cool completely. Beat butter, sugar and egg yolks until fluffy.

3. Add alternately dry ingredients with liquid.

4. Blend in cooled chocolate custard. Bake 350 degrees in 8 inch pans.

5. 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake. NOTES : When I was a student nurse, a volunteer RN brought this cake in weekly.

6. She frosted it was a chocolate frosting. I This is our family\'s favorite.
