Broiled Grapefuit

Ingredients:

2 Unit Grapefuit
4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar or as much as 3 teaspoons
4 Teaspoons Butter
1/2 Unit Apple thinly sliced

Directions:

1. Cut grapefruit in half, crosswise.

2. With a sharp knife, grapefruit knife or scissors, remove any seeds and the tough fibrous center.

3. Cut between segments. Sprinkle each half with 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 teaspoon melted butter.

4. Place very thin slices of unpeeled apple between the segments if desired.

5. Place in broiling pan under broiling unit for 10 minutes.

6. Serve at once. NOTES : The center of the grapefruit may be filled with a mixture of = chopped pecans and preserved or candied ginger.
